Emilee 100 word challenge

In the park Jane saw a scary sculpture. It looked like a pot with a face. On the head it had some legs with blood. Jane thought yuck. Jane went back the next day. It had moved a little.  Jane thought a witch was controlling it. She hardly thought about it. In the Newspaper the next day it said people in the park started to go missing. So Jane went back. It had moved again “I don’t know what’s happening”. She felt something kicking her. “Aahhr”. It was the mean sculpture. He picked Jane up. “I will eat you Jane”.

Jessica 100 word challenge

While I was walking in the park I heard someone scream. I sprinted over. A statue was talking in a deep rumbling voice “I will get you if it’s the last thing I do”. Blood was dripping from its mouth. I wondered what those legs were doing on top of it. I crept up behind it and saw a red on/off switch. Suddenly one of the legs kicked me before I’d pushed the switch. I backed away. I heard smirking near the cafĂ©. I finally snuck under one of the legs and hit the button. I heard the smirking stop.

James 100 word challenge

A hundred years ago a monster came to a tower. It looked like a pot with huge legs out the top. The legs smashed people into the ground and the people turned to stone. It would smash buildings and eat people. The monster felt sick and it fell to the ground. The people killed it and they took it to the museum. They thought that it was dead but it was still eating everybody in the museum. Then a scientist realised that it was alive. The scientist ran to tell the people but before he got there it ate him.

Katie-Ana's Speech

Calving Speech

Hello my name is Katie-Ana and I am going to tell you some things about calves. I hope you learn lots of new information about calves. I know so much about calves because I live on a dairy farm.

Firstly a mummy cow has a baby. The calves have cords that you have to spray with iodine. We always have to check if it is a girl or a boy. The bobbies are the boys and the heifers are the girls.

The boys and girls get put into separate pens. The girl heifers
stay alive and have more babies. But the bobby boys have to go on a big truck to the freezing works. They have to get chopped up. It makes me very sad. Sometimes I cry but its okay because we have got a lot more calves to take care of.

I have my own calf too. She is a heifer so I get to keep her. I am very lucky. I feed her milk and hay and I call her Flora. She follows me a lot too.

Next when a calf is born they need colostrum milk, which is the mother cow’s first milk. This gives the calves a healthy immune system. Calves also eat hay and meal. This gives them an appetite for eating grass. When a calf reaches about 90 or 100 kilograms they are weaned onto grass.

When calves are sick they get put in a hospital pen and get fed electrolytes and penicillin until they are healthy again.

Lastly a calf will become a yearling then an in-calf heifer. Then she will have her own baby calves.

Katie-Ana 100 word challenge

One day a little girl went to the pond to go swimming. She saw a little tea cup that loved swimming too and it grew and grew. When it grew up it was the best swimmer in the world. But one day it lost its legs by swimming too hard. It went mad because it couldn’t swim and got everyones legs by eating them. Everyone started to laugh at it so it started to cry. It gave everyone’s legs back. Since it did the right thing the witch showed up in town and gave it a new pair of legs.

Pot of legs Week#4

Claire !00 word challenge

Imogen wanted to plant a flower. She found a huge flowerpot. She went to the store and ran straight to the gardening corner but saw nothing good. She decided to have a look tomorrow. Overnight, a witch opened up the last daffodil packet, emptied out the bulbs and dropped in an unusual seed. When Imogen went back to the store she saw the packet and decided to buy it. She planted the seed when she got home. After a week feet were sticking out of the soil. After a month men’s legs were sticking out the soil. “WOW” said Imogen.
