How the Solar System Works

The sun is a star. It stays in the middle of the Solar system. It also has a strong force.
The solar system has eight planets. Here are their names: Mercury, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Neptune, Uranus, Saturn and Venus. All of these planets are orbiting the sun. All these planets also have different speeds. There are moons on Earth, Jupiter and Saturn.
There are other things like dust, meteors, comets and asteroids in the solar system.
The planets and other things do not float into space because the force of the sun is pulling them to it and they are trying to pull away as well but they do not have a strong enough force.
So they just keep orbiting the sun. So that’s how they do not float away. And that’s how the solar system works.
